Landfillart.org is an international effort encompassing 1,041 artists to claim a piece of rusted metal garbage and create fine art. In addition to accepting submissions, Ken Marquis, the founder/organizer of the project, invited artists from all over the globe as well as an artist from every state to submit a piece. Like many of the artists asked, I enthusiastically accepted the invitational hubcap.

This piece combines the call of Landfillart with my yearly self portrait exercise. It is constructed with an outer shutter disk and inner image disk.   Because the moving image can only be seen clearly when the disks are spun, I've included a video (below) which shows a facsimile of the spin, as well as the process of making it.
